“House of Ga’a,” directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, is a historical drama set in the 18th-century Oyo Empire, a prominent Yoruba monarchy in what is now southwest Nigeria. The film centers on Bashorun Ga’a, a feared and influential political leader who uses his military prowess and spiritual knowledge to rise to power as a kingmaker. The story begins with Ga’a’s victory over Nupe invaders, earning him respect and influence within the Oyo Empire. However, his increasing authority brings him into conflict with the reigning Alaafin (king).

The story, in essence, underlines a group of misfit Vault Hunters coming together to thwart an evil corporation from exploiting the treasures on the planet Pandora. Among them are Roland (Kevin Hart), an ex-soldier, and Lilith (Cate Blanchett), a powerful Siren with magical powers. On the way, they run into all forms of strange individuals, deadly beasts, and heavy battles.

Director Justin Baldoni proves that a romance is more than mere satisfaction as he directs the Colleen Hoover novel adaptation “It Ends With Us,” which hits theaters in 2024. The story follows young Lily Bloom, who makes an absolutely puzzlingly emotional connection with neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid. While their bond strengthens, so does pressure on Lily to finally face the music with her abusive past, more so with the reemergence of her first love, Atlas Corrigan. The movie delves into love, domestic violence, and inner strength while trying to articulate the difficult decisions that must be made concerning intense emotions.
